Stan has been playing guitar for about seven years, and had no real interest or exposure to contemparary music culture before his senior year in high school. Two months before graduation, one of his friends began taking guitar lessons at a local music store. Stan watched him learn and listened to him play blues, jazz and classical pieces.

"I immediately fell in love with the guitar...with the sound, with the spirit, with the music, and I knew I had to learn how to play!"

After buying up every musical theory book he could get his hands on, he began teaching himself to play on his dad's classical guitar. Six months later he discovered the world of rock music and laid aside the classical guitar for the electric guitar.
