| Rachel discovered the love of music through her grandmother and close relatives. At age 4, Rachel saw her cousin perform on stage. Ever since that experience she has dedicated herself to the development of her vocal skills. This was especially difficult because of her family background; Rachels parents are deaf.
With the support that she received from her family, especially her mother, she pushed her dream forward and performed as often as possible. Although her mother never really understood or could hear what her daughter's music was about, she faithfully attended every performance.
"Instruments never really sparked an interest in me, but vocals were my thrill. With my family's support, I developed my vocal skills and chose music as my career."
She started writing her own music in elementary school, starting her first band in middle school. Later, she continued with a solo career and learned the basics of guitar. Her first solo album was completed in 2002, 'Ashes of Autumn'.
Rachel credits almost everything she knows about music to her high school choir teacher. Her personal faith in God has been prominent in her life, and she volunteers musically in her church.
